What is Paradol
Paradol is an intermediate in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical intermediate, mainly used in laboratory research and development process and chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis process.
Paradol is a pungent phenolic substance found in the ginger family. In mouse skin carcinogenesis, Paradol binds to the cyclooxygenase (COX-2) active site and effectively inhibits tumor development.

Paradol is the active flavor constituent of the seeds of Guinea pepper (Aframomum melegueta or grains of paradise). It is also found in ginger. Paradol has been found to have antioxidant and antitumor promoting effects in a mouse model. 
Paradols are unsaturated ketones produced by biotransformation of shogaols in gingers. Among them, 6-paradol has been investigated as a new drug candidate due to its anti-inflammatory, apoptotic, and neuroprotective activities.
