Vasopressin tannate (PitressinTannate) is a water-insoluble tannate of vasopressin administeredintramuscularly for its prolonged duration of action by the slow release ofvasopressin. It is particularly useful for patients who havediabetes insipidus, but it should never be used intravenously.
